Red Hat Society Performance

I was asked by CM Dance to participate in a swing dance performance for the Red Hat Society convention that took place at he Marriott in the Denver Tech Center. The performance presented dances from the 1920's through the 1970's. The Diamond Dolls (an all female vintage dance group) per formed a 1920's flapper dance routine. Next, Nick and Sara performed a Lindy Hop routine in the 1930's and 40's part. Marie and I performed a Rockabilly jive performance for the 1950's part. The Diamond Dolls performed the 1960's part with a Go Go Girl Dance. We all ended with a 1970's hustle dance at the end. It was a fun performance and everyone just love the dancing. It was great to make all of those old ladies happy.

Here are the my performance videos.

1950's Jive Performance done to the Bill Haley song "Rock Around the Clock"

1970's Hustle Performance done to the Earth Wind & Fire song "September"

To an unexpected surprise, we were all asked to perform and encore dance.
We did the "Tranky Doo"

Lindy On the Rocks 2012

Yet another great annual Lindy Hop event. Lindy on the Rocks . This event is full of performances, competitions, workshops, and lots of dances. This year was special to me because it was the first time making it into the finals in the open Jack & Jill competition. Last years competition I wasn't even noticed in the preliminaries. So making it into the finals was an honor. I didn't place but I still had so much fun. I also competed in the Solo Your Mojo competition as well.  I was proud to say that I was so much better this year and my dances were dynamic and musical which was my goal for this years Lindy on the Rocks.

Rockin' Estes Park

I was asked to perform some songs with the Atomic Drifters and teach swing dancing at The Estes Park Summer Fest. The festival was full of great people and great food. I was accompanied by the sweetest and prettiest gal.

First Friday Awesomeness!!

The Orchard Town Center in Westminster has live music every Frst Friday throughout summer. On this day they had the 40's style big band "Tuxedo Junction" along with the Frank Sinatra Look-a-like as well as The Andrew Sisters Look-a-likes. My friend Laurie joined me in some fun dancing. We stole the dance floor. A 90 year old woman walk up to us and told us her swing dancing stories when she was young. Then she thanked us for our dancing. She was so excited to see Lindy Hop that she could barely say the words she wanted to say. It was the sweetest thing.

High on dance endorphins!

Ever wonder what swing dancers do when they're not dancing, LOL

1940's Ball 2012 and Performance

Once again the summer 1940's ball. What was more fun and different about this one? I was in a awesome performance this year with The Great Unknowns. I also went with a wonderful gal.

I always enjoy all the performances, the live music, the costumes, and most of all the dancing.
